Pride 2008 in Belarus!

At the second part of September 2008, LGBT Pride festival week will take place in Belarus. It will take place in Minsk and Gomel (second biggest city) and consist of:
1.. Film festival (2 gays, 2 lesbians and 1 trans move; 2 days in tow cities)
2.. Seminar for youth leaders and International Eastern Europe LGBT conference in Minsk International Education Center www.ibb.by (including 10
scholarships for Eastern Europe LGBT activists)
3.. "Stop AIDS" and "Only together we are strong!" LGBT parties in two cities with invited star.
We'll not organize any public or illegal events on the streets, because we believe that our society and government are not ready for this type of actions, in that case we coud expect the same or maybe worse reaction as were in Moscow. We will not organize any provocations. As you see most of events will take place in Minsk (the capital, 2mil. population) and Gomel (2nd biggest, 600k population).
It will be first Pride since 2001, witch was organized by BLL.

Gay.by web-portal will provide information and advertisement support.
Vstrecha, national wide HIV/AIDS prevention NGO among MSM, will support and organize parties.
TEMA and Pride.by will make general logistic work and promotion campaign.
Now we have discussions with other NGOs and initiatives on supporting of Pride.

We are open for new partners and any type of support, just write us! You are welcome to come as well, TEMA will provide visa and travel help.
